Our Story
About Us
Art & Stuff was created by artists Michelle Tanguay and Dan Armand as a place to share the things they love most: art, creativity, collecting, and community.
For more than a decade, Dan worked in the contemporary art world helping build one of the largest art publishing companies in the country through his work with 1xRUN. During that time, he collaborated with artists from around the world, producing thousands of limited-edition prints, exhibitions, murals, and creative projects.
Michelle is a professional artist, muralist, producer, and entrepreneur who has spent years creating public art programs throughout Southeast Michigan. Through her company, The Mural People, she has worked with cities, businesses, and artists to produce mural festivals, public art installations, and community events that connect people through creativity.
Together, we've spent our careers surrounded by artists, collectors, makers, and creative people. Art & Stuff grew from a simple idea: to create the kind of place we always wished existed nearby a space where families, artists, collectors, and curious people could gather, discover new things, and make something of their own.
Today, Art & Stuff is part gallery, part creative workshop, part gift shop, and part treasure hunt. From original artwork and vintage finds to creative classes, Make & Take activities, collectibles, books, stickers, and art supplies, every corner of the store is filled with things that inspire us.
We believe creativity belongs to everyone. Whether you're a professional artist, a collector, a parent looking for a fun afternoon activity, or someone who hasn't made art in years, you're welcome here.
Public Art & Community
In addition to Art & Stuff, we continue to produce public art projects through The Mural People.
Our team works with communities throughout Michigan to create mural festivals, public art programs, artist residencies, and creative placemaking projects that bring people together and celebrate local culture. These projects have helped transform downtowns, support artists, attract visitors, and create lasting community pride.
Many of the artists featured at Art & Stuff have participated in our mural festivals and public art projects, creating a direct connection between the artwork in our store and the creative communities we help build.
Art & Stuff is an extension of that mission a place where creativity, community, and curiosity come together every day.
