After earning both their BFA and MA from Eastern Michigan University, Pauline has built a practice that ranges from functional pottery to expressive sculptural work. Their classes emphasize creativity, self-expression, and learning the foundational hand-building techniques needed to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind ceramics you'll actually use at home.

Create a one-of-a-kind garden totem or peace pole from a two-foot wooden post. In this workshop, participants will transform a simple 4" x 4 x 24" post into a colorful piece of outdoor art using paint, paint markers, stencils, simple painting techniques, patterns, words, symbols, and imagery.
To inspire your creativity, Val will demonstrate two design styles: a loose floral approach and a bold, colorful design. Participants may choose to explore these styles or develop their own original vision.
